Mull Wildlife Group (formerly Mull Bird Club)
At an EGM on 24th February 2023, it was resolved that Mull Bird Club change its name to Mull Wildlife Group; reflecting the broader scope of its members' interests.
Mull Wildlife Group is a non profit making organisation open to all. Our aim is to advance the knowledge of the public in the study of wildlife in a social context. The original club (Mull Bird Club) was inaugurated by Alan Spellman, Len White and Peter Hall in 2001.
Regular meetings are held from September to April, usually in the Craignure Village Hall and there may be occasional meetings during the summer months. Several field trips usually take place each year both on and off the island. Notices advertising our meetings will be placed in “Round & About” and via e-mail to members, as well as this website.
The group is open to all ages and all individuals; visitors will be made very welcome. Join here.
Bird sightings on Mull
If you see an unusual or rare bird on Mull please let the Mull Bird Recorder have the details. You can e-mail him (see link on left) or visit his website at Mullbirds.co.uk. All records are passed on to Jim Dickson, the Bird Recorder for Argyll & Bute.
Mull Wildlife Group - Mission Statement
Mull Wildlife Group is a social organisation for people who support Mull’s natural history, enabling them to share knowledge, understanding, promotion and conservation of nature on the Isle of Mull and its surrounds.
At its heart the Group aims:
to encourage members to enjoy and explore diverse interests in natural history;
to be a voice and advocate for, and take action as appropriate on behalf of, the exceptional biodiversity which distinguishes Mull as an outstanding, yet vulnerable, wildlife asset.
Our website is being re-branded and appropriate content added, after the change of name; this may take some time!

Mull Wildlife Group has a digital projector, in part funded by donations from MESS and 'The Waterfall Fund'
If you would like to borrow a digital projector for your Mull based club or organisation please contact Jenny Jackson on 07840 968987
We do not charge for this but suggest a donation of £10 towards our fund for a replacement projector bulb (they're very expensive!)
